The 2008 2009 Toyota Highlander is a crossover vehicle offering
utility and space of an SUV and comfort and premium features
of a sedan. If you think you know what to expect from Sport
Utility Vehicles today, think again, because the new 2008 2009
Highlander redefines everything. Today it is a vehicle that
delivers smooth handling and clean styling, as well as brick-hard
toughness and a muscle unmatched by any SUV of its kind. We
have waited months to publish our 2008 2009 Toyota Highlander review,
and now that the time has come, we're excited to bring you
all of the information you could want about the truck and
some of the Toyota Highlander accessories that come with it.
We hope you enjoy our work.
New for this year, the 2008 2009 Toyota Highlander comes in two
models - the Highlander and the Highlander limited. As you
can see in the Highlander picture above, both models are pretty
impressive. Depending on which model you buy, the new Highlander
is equipped with either a responsive 155-horsepower, VVT-I,
4-cylinder engine or a powerful 220-horsepower, VVT-I, DOHC
V-6. If this power isn't enough, you can get more, thanks
to the available full-time four-wheel-drive. Other standard
Highlander performance features include:
- Vehicle Skid Control with TRAC Traction Control
- Rack and pinion steering
- MacPherson strut-type front and rear suspensions
What's more, Toyota offers a host of 2008 2009 Highlander accessories
to improve performance tenfold, including engine skid plates
and mudflaps to name a few. We've tried to include all of
these accessories in our Highlander review.
Take a look at any Highlander picture and you'll see that
the truck's exterior matches the style, comfort and refinement
of its interior. On the outside, the car includes items such
as color-keyed power remote outside mirrors, aluminum alloy
wheels, mudguards, available moonroof, and a roof rack system.
On the inside, the Highlander boasts amenities such as:
- Power windows and door locks
- Fabric-trimmed 60/40 split fold-down second-row bench
seat with 3-step recline and fold flat capability
- Deluxe AM/FM ETR/Cassette/CD with six speakers and fixed
mast antenna
- Available built-in garage door opener.
Additional Highlander accessories further enhance these looks,
making it no surprise to encounter Highlander reviews as positive
as ours. What's more, with the right kind of Highlander body
kit, you can turn your vehicle from an SUV into a custom-designed
chariot of greatness.
Perhaps most importantly, though, is the Highlander's commitment
to safety. Here in our Highlander review, we focus on this
almost exclusively - with features like driver and front passenger
air bags and ABS with Brake Assist, it's clear the 2008 2009 Toyota
Highlander provides more safety than most SUVs on the road
today. Add to the list of safety features Electronic Brake-force
Distribution, as well as a host of others, and it starts to
look like safety might just be this vehicle's top priority.
Additional safety features include:
- Daytime Running Lights
- Fuel system collision shutoff
- Side-impact door beams
- Unibody design featuring high-strength body shell and
impact-absorbing body structure.
These, coupled with pretensioning seat belts and adjustable
head restraints, make the Highlander proof positive that SUVs
can in fact be safe. To read other safety-oriented Highlander
reviews, please come back again soon. For additional Highlander
information in any other area, we encourage you to make us
