When it comes to power, the 2010 Chevrolet Silverado truck
tackles all of the work, so you can enjoy the ride. With this
in mind, every new and improved 2010 Chevrolet Silverado comes
standard with engines that are more powerful than anything
else on the road today. The standard Vortec 6000 V-8 SFI engine
in Silverado 1500HD, 2500, 2500HD and 3500 models provides
more power than the standard engine in Ford Super-Duty pickups.
If that's not enough power for you, the available Vortec 8100
V-8 SFI engine in the Silverado 2500HD and 3500 models produces
more torque than the V-8 and V-10 gas engines available from
Ford and Dodge. Finally, when combined with available Allison
transmission, the highly acclaimed available Duramax Diesel
6600 V-8 is designed to handle the toughest jobs.
What you can see clearly in any Silverado pictures is that
every one of these trucks comes standard with exterior features
including recovery hooks and dual power ports. What you can't
see is that every S-10 truck comes standard with a Driver
Information Center, 40/20/40 split-bench front seat, dual-zone
climate control, and PASSlock theft-deterrent system. In terms
of legroom, Extended Cab models have more rear-seat legroom
than comparable Ford and Toyota pickups. And all 4x4 models
also come with an Autotrac transfer case, which transfers
between the rear and front wheels whenever rear-wheel slippage
is detected. There are also a ton of Silverado accessories
to improve upon the quality model you pick up from the dealer.
Some of these Silverado accessories include a hard top, XM
Radio, and towing packages.
Finally, every Silverado truck features the capability of
a standard trailer-ready design. Trailering features of Silverado
2500HD and 3500 models include an available ZF six-speed transmission,
heavy-duty trailering package, or an Allison 1000 Series five-speed
automatic transmission - a GM segment exclusive. What's more,
the locking rear differential on Silverado allows additional
traction on snow, mud or ice. If one of the rear wheels has
traction while the other one does not, the locking rear differential
allows the wheel with traction to move the vehicle. Throw
in daytime running lamps, crush zones, and driver and passenger-size
airbags, and the Silverado might just be the safest tough
truck on the road today. For additional information, please
